Funny enough, the first year we launched the Promenade we couldn't call it an event. The Promenade name was born out of creative placemaking during the Covid shutdown, when a group of community builders across organizations and city agencies came together to help promote and preserve the businesses and attractions along the Charles Street Corridor. 

As year passed and the crowd grew larger, the Promenade really came into it's own as an annual large scale event, drawing thousands of feet to the street for a say of sidewalk sales, outdoor dining, live performance, walking tours, public art, beer gardens, and so much more.
