Public Involvement

Since Charles Street Development Corporation (CSDC) began studying the trolley project in 2004, community involvement has played an integral part in the planning process.

In June 2007, two public meetings were held to present the Charles Street Trolley initiative and bring the community up to date in regards to the preliminary feasibility study and the planning process.

A Community Steering Committee consisting of forty stakeholders was formed in August 2007. The Steering Committee was split into four working groups who met as often as they felt necessary to consider the project's Design & Engineering, Finance & Governance, Service & Ridership, and Communications.

In June 2008, two open-house information sessions were held in order to share the results of the study and gather community feedback.

As the project moves forward, we will continue to welcome any your ideas and questions. We hope that this interactive process will bring about the best possible transit system for Baltimore's Charles Street Corridor.
