Charles Street Corridor Trolley

The Charles Street Trolley Corporation is currently working to develop plans for a fixed-rail trolley in the Charles Street corridor. The proposed route stretches from the Inner Harbor to University Parkway, connecting Baltimore's Downtown with the historic neighborhoods of Mount Vernon-Belvedere, Charles North, Old Goucher, and Charles Village. This route is rich with many of the City's significant destinations, such as the Convention Center, the Basilica of the Assumption, The Walters Art Museum, the Peabody Conservatory, University of Baltimore, Penn Station, The Baltimore Museum of Art, and Johns Hopkins University's Homewood Campus.

The trolley will serve Baltimore's residents, students, tourists and workers for short distance travel between retail and entertainment venues, cultural and educational institutions, employment districts, and regional transit connections such as MARC, AMTRAK, Metro and Light Rail. It will provide a reliable means of public transportation when attending special events like Flowermart, Baltimore Book Festival, and Artscape, as well as Downtown sporting events and theater outings. This route has the potential to become the first in a series of high quality in-town transit links, representing a long-term commitment to healthier and greener Baltimore neighborhoods.
